CMS DN 80 Regulation Valve

Regulation valves are angled hand-operated valves that behave like normal shut-off valves in the closed position. Designed for regulation in liquid and expansion lines.

All valves are leak tightness tested. It is recommended to use the valve only in closed circuits. Please contact CMS Valve for more information.

  • Applies to HCFC, HFC, R717 (ammonia), R744 (CO₂) and all flammable refrigerants.
  • Made of special, cold-resistant steel.
  • The valve cone can be rotated on the spindle so that there is no friction between the cone and the seat when the valve opens and closes. The special design prevents the cone from rotating due to impact and vibration when the valve is in the open position. The teflon clamping ring ensures perfect sealing with minimum closing force.
  • The shaft is made of polished stainless steel.
  • It is recommended to install the valves in the direction of flow indicated by the arrow on the valve body. The valve can be mounted in the opposite direction, but this slightly reduces the k-value (c-value).
  • The valve is designed to withstand high internal pressure.

  • The valve must be mounted so that the stem is in a vertically upward or horizontal position.
  • Valves must be opened manually. The valve is designed to withstand high internal pressure. However, the piping system must be designed to reduce the risk of hydraulic pressure caused by thermal expansion.
  • When making valve connections, suitable welding methods should be used with materials compatible with the valve body. After welding is complete and before the valve is fully assembled, clean the valve internally to remove welding residues.
  • Be careful not to damage the Teflon conical ring.
  • The valve housing must be free from stresses (external loads) after installation.
  • Do not install regulating valves in systems where the open side of the valve is open to the atmosphere. The outlet side of the valve must always be connected to the system or properly sealed, e.g. with a welded end plate.
  • The outer surface of the valve housing must be protected against corrosion with a suitable protective coating after installation and assembly.
  • If the valve is still under pressure when the valve is removed, the cover is not removed.
  • Check that the shaft is free from scratches and impact marks.
  • If the Teflon cone ring is damaged, the entire cone assembly must be replaced.
  • Use only genuine CMS Valve parts, including gaskets, to replace valve parts. In case of hesitation, please contact CMS Valve. CMS Valve accepts no responsibility for errors and omissions. CMS Valve reserves the right to make changes to products and specifications without prior notice.
